Posted Sat May 08 12:05PMSo, if you've been keeping abreast of the fate of the trees in TJ Martin Park
and Jeffrey Fontana Park, there has been somewhat of a solution, although
no one wins.
The parks were created as part of an agreemetn with PG&E and the city which
permitted PG&E to have the right of way fortheir high voltage lines, and providing
residents in the area with neighborhood parks.
Initially 62 trees were to be removed in 2010, and 78 in 2011. That has been
changed to a multi-year plan that preserves most of the large Oak trees and
removes only 14 trees and allows for the trimming of four trees in June 2010.

A TJ Martin community member suggested a more detailed plan that made
a little more sense this year,that would preserve all the trees. Check it out
