Wow, I've lived here all my life and never been to Stanford's museum and cafe! Just had lunch and visited
with a friend there today. What a gorgeous day to sit outsideand have lunch. Not enough time to view much of the museum, but I'll be back!

Below is Rodin's version of Dante's The Gates of Hell, along with the plaque located at the front of the museum.

For a long time many homeowners who are distressed have been trying unsuccessfully
to get their banks to allow them to modify their loans. Why are most of their attempts
unsuccessful? Below are some of the reasons:

  • These are non-performing loans that the banks would rather not have on their books.
(yes, they have been holding onto many properties, and not even placing notice of defaults,
    but that will be changing).
  • Approximately 2/3 of homeowners who are granted a loan modification wind up
defaulting during or immediately after the 3 month trial period.
  • Homes are not appraising for market value, so the homeowner's loan is usually for
    much higher.
  • If the bank thinks they will make more money by selling the home now, a loan mod
    is not feasible to them.
  • The banks loss will be 40% on REOs, vs. 20% on short sales. If the bank grants the
homeowner a loan mod and they default on it, the homeowner will no longer fall into
the debt forgiveness category as the loan is now a recourse loan.

There are other reasons why the banks are not granting loan mods, but these are some
valid ones.

What a fun, inspiring and entertaining awards show! Even better than the Oscars at times.
Congrats to all winners and achievers...

Don't let the trees in our park get cut down!  Come make your voice heard. They plan to cut the trees on March 22!!!!!

PG&E is planning to cut and remove approximately 140 the trees in T.J. Martin and Jeffery Fontana Parks.

The meeting date is:      March 3, Wednesday

Meeting time:                6:30 pm-8:00pm

Meeting location:         Almaden Winery Community Center
                                 5730 Chambertin Drive
                                 San Jose, CA

At the meeting representatives from PG&E, Council person Nancy Pyle office, City of San Jose Parks and Recreation Department will present the details of the removal of approximately 140 trees.

According PG&E, these trees interfere with the overhead electrical lines. The trees were planted by the City of San Jose many years ago.

T.J. Martin Park Neighborhood Association, friends of T.J. Martin Park and Jeffrey Fontana Park have been communicating to Nancy Pyle's office that the trees should be trimmed and not cut and disposed as PG&E is proposing. If a tree must be cut because it is diseased, then it should be replaced on a three to one basis.
We have requested documentary evidence that shows what State and Federal laws allow PG&E to propose this action. Also we have asked for other documentation from the City and PG&E that would support this action. The City and PG&E have not responded.
